Srimad Bhagavat Gita

The secret Passage to success ,security and serenity in the modern life.

Srimad Bhagavat Gita is the core of 'Bharatiya Darasana' or indian concept on a number of paths of thoughs regarding vedanta,theology,philosophy etc. Comprised in seven hundred verses and is a part of the great epic Sri Mahabharatha written by Sage veda vyasa. Lord Krishna admonished Gita to the defected Arjuna who was returned to fight against his own relative ,friend and gurus.Conceiving this great advise,Arjuna recovered himself and took the bow and arrows and get ready for war.

Actually,many of the thoughts in Gita already existed, Lord Krishna compiled it and gave his own version on Nyaya,Visheshika,Sankya,Yoga,Mimamsa,Vedanta etc.,as well as the (atheist) conepts and dersanas like charvaka, Jaina, Sauthanthrika, Vaisheshika, Madhyamka, yogachara etc.

Actually Gita has not diffrentiated Asthika or Nasthika. The essence of gita is 'Karmayoga'. Do your duty what ever may be the result'

Gita is given in the "Bhishma parva of mahabharath from 25th to 42nd chapters and hence comprises of 18 chapters.The names of the chapters are given under.

5.Sanyasa Yoga

Some people thinks gita is a religious book. some thinks that it is a dharma sasthra and some other thinks that it is thatwa sasthra. But the truth is that Gita is all this.

There were great studies of this book by great peoples, Shankaracharya found his Advaita siddanta from Gita. Ramanujacharya sought his 'Vishistadvaitha' from this book, Balagagadhara Tilakan adopted it as karmayayoga shashtra. Nimbarkor,Gnanaeswar etc. gave importance to bhakthi yoga. Mahatma Gandhi gave importance to 'Anasaktha karama'. Aurobindo and Acharya Vinobobhave thought that Gita is the combination of Bhakthi,Gyan and Karma yogas.

Gita was translated to English language in 1785 by charles wilkins.

There are many schools of teaching about Gita. Gayathri Srilakom also has its own version of thinking and teaching of the great words of Lord Krishna. Srilokam has simplified it in such a way to lead a material & spiritual life successfully.
